It started as a loose idea to walk “Coast to Coast for Cancer Research” after the loss of a family member, John Walker. Since that spark of an idea, it has grown exponentially into a mad timetable of hikes and challenges after more and more friends were diagnosed and stories shared.

So… we are walking the Coast-to-Coast path and more for Cancer Research UK (CRUK), because so many of our family and friends have been affected by this disease. We are walking because we have the opportunity to – and we have seen so many people from whom that opportunity is taken. Their stories are proof that we need to do what we want to do now. Don’t wait for the right time or put a single thing off.

One of the project’s aims is to raise money, and you can support this aim by buying clothing (profits to CRUK) and wearing it out and about to advertise. Simon at SJB Uniforms & Workwear is very kindly sourcing and embroidering all the project’s clothing items, and we would love to see as many people as possible wearing the project’s logo with pride.

Perhaps more significantly, the project also aims to bring people affected by cancer, whether supporting family or friends through treatment, grieving a loved one, or being diagnosed themselves. If you have always fancied a long-distance path, let us know – walk with us, for some or all of the coast-to-coast route or any of our other planned challenges, or suggest another for us to tackle together.

Let’s walk all over cancer. Let’s raise awareness and funds. The project’s website can be found here: https://hikingintheirhonou.wixsite.com/whowillyouhikefor
